MARK DIXON - BMHOF CLASS OF 1990
Mark Dixon has been fronting Top 40 music groups since the 1960s. He helped form, plays drums and sings lead vocals for Buffalo Music Hall of Fame legends, the Party Squad. The band has been performing together for 30 years and is a staple in the music community. Dixon also fronts a Three Dog Night Tribute band, ELI, singing most of Chuck Negron's original vocal parts and harmonizing along with the two other singers.
In 1981 he replaced the original lead singer, Brad Delp, in the national rock band Boston. He sang lead and background vocals on some of the original recording sessions for Boston's third album, Third Stage.
Although Brad Delp returned to the band in 1983 replacing Dixon's vocal tracks in the final mix, the harmonies Dixon worked out during the sessions were used by Delp on the album.
Mark Dixon was inducted into the Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 1990 for his lead vocal abilities and musical accomplishments. Dixon is admired and well respected by his peers.
