Students who are studying music, business of music, music therapy, or any technical, audio or production aspect of music are eligible!
In March 2009, the Local 92 American Federation of Musicians, The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Taylor Made Jazz featured the inaugural Spotlight Series “Concert From the Heart” at Kleinhan’s Music Hall. The proceeds from this concert benefitted the Food Bank of Western New York, the Buffalo City Mission, and funded a scholarship to support a local high school student in their musical endeavors.
Since then, the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame has provided support for the Scholarships which are awarded to high school students in grade 12. The financial awards provide support for musical endeavors including college, summer music camps, lessons, instruments, sheet music, etc. Students were recognized and received their awards at the Annual Induction Gala ceremony for the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Additionally, winners were invited to perform at various functions throughout the years.
In 2018, the Scholarship was modified to focus on providing a college scholarship to High School seniors who will be pursuing their college education in music.
