JO JO McDUFFIE - BMHOF CLASS OF 1999

Joanne ‘JoJo’ McDuffie was born in Buffalo, New York. A resident of Buffalo’s East side, she attended Buffalo public schools P.S. #6, Clinton Jr. High School (Performing Arts Academy), Fosdick-Masten Vocational HS (City Honors),and is a graduate of the State University College of New York at Buffalo. JoJo was a popular vocalist on the Buffalo, NY and surrounding area nightclub scene until she became a background vocalist for Rick James. 

She was chosen to be thelead vocalist for the 80's R&B/pop sensation group “the Mary Jane Girls”, whose hits included “Candy Man”,“All Night Long”, and the international hit “In My House”. JoJo also sang backing vocals for Barry White and Anita Baker. In addition to being a premier vocalist, she is also a songwriter, whose credits include a
television music composition for the hit TV show ‘criminal minds’, as well as writer and composer of  various other musical projects. JoJo currently resides in Los Angeles, California, but says “I just live here... Buffalo is my home” ...an alumnus of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame since 1999.
